Diet coke does contain a lot of chemicals starting with the artificial sweetener. A body knows how to metabolize sugar but does not metabolize artificial sweetners as well. Plus you have the carbonation. It is very hard on the body. 4 cans a day is a pretty good amount to drink as well. you might want to cut down for the sake of the child. Everything going through your blood stream is going through the baby's as well.
Thank you for your input, I don't know what it is but I've been craving soda so much! Maybe would it be better to drink regular coke without caffeine?
Maybe but there is still the carbonation which does get into the blood. Just try to cut down to 1/2 to one can per day at the least.
Also sodas are very high in sodium too. I would just try to limit consumption as much as possible. Think of soda as liquid candy-it is ok as a treat on occasion but not good to consume on a daily basis in large amounts.
Yes. It is true. Because taking caffeine during pregnancy can induce abortion.
I'm drinking caffeine free diet coke though? So there's no caffeine but I was told there's a lot of other chemicals in it???
I was told the same thing by a friend whose wife was expecting, she switched to can't think of the name but its clear like seven-up not sprite either, it has one that has a cranberry flavor but still can't remember the name, I hope you find a replacement it is difficult to give up things we love, but you also want a healthy baby you take good care
