The pain your having is constipation. Might not seem like it but it is. Trust me i have the same pain and i take it. You need to do a day every other day where u dont take hydrocodone all day. I know it sucks but it works. All the food stores up and doesn't come out. Try it. Btw i take it for 2 slipped disks in my back
I have my most severe pain when constipation moves into the large intestine. I'm dead set on the idea that this presses against the herniation in the lumbar area because as soon as the BM passes there is instant relief on the spine. Have you ever experienced this?
I too had a lot of stomach issues when being on the meds over a period of time. You really should be speaking with the Dr. that prescribed the pain meds. There are a lot of different medications that you can take both by prescriptions, and over the counter drugs. I couldn't begin to tell you what to take, as the Dr. should be your first line of attck on the problem. The meds can do a whole lot of things to the lining of your stomach. So do consult with your Dr.

Hi LarryDee,
Try Gaviscon, it works great! Hydrocodone does NOT contain aspirin, btw. It does contain tylenol though.
Best wishes Larry
If that's the problem my mom didn't like the Tylenol in hers ( she's fighting cancer) so they gave her oxycodone without Tylenol. Also try milk to coat your stomache...
Hi Malcom,
Hope your mum is doing well, is the new med helping her?
Best wishes,
Yes very much, she sometimes takes I B prophin for a kicker, but yeah the main problem is constipation
Make sure you eat before you take the med. Even if it is only toast and a small glass of milk. But if this dosen't work your doctor should be able to write another skript of something without asprin. That is the thought when it comes to this type of drug and stomach pain. good luck!
First of all what are you taking it for, & second if it's causing you pain like that it cannot be good for your stomach lining. A lot of painmeds can do this, but you could try something different is why I ask what you are taking it for...
