Will i feel anything like dizziness or increased heart rate from the methylprednisolone? I really don't like taking meds that's why I ask. It's for my sinuses and my ears are hurting from sinus pain.
I suffer from panic attacks. Will methylprednisolone increase my attacks?

Are you taking meds for Pa’s / anxiety? If so, you may not, however, I also suffer from the same and it definitely hyped me up and increase my heart rate a bit. Good news? I did not suffer a panic attack of increased anxiety.
Side note, it was very difficult for me to sleep, but I was in no pain and was able to clean and do normal everyday things.
I take hydroxyzine for panic attacks, so when the days comes by taking the meds each day I won’t have any problem with the meds except difficult sleeping?
Also, it definitely kept me from sleeping well, however, the trade off was worth it for me.
I am not a Dr. so I can’t tell you that you won’t experience a PA, I would highly suggest requesting a mild sedative just Incase, and only if you absolutely must take it.
Methyl Pred. Is known to induce increase heart rate, hyperactivity, PVC’s (skipped heart beat), restlessness etc. Not everybody gets these side effects, but since you have a history of PA’s, you should consider a mild sedative to keep on hand. Good luck
What is a mild sedative if I do need to keep on hand just in case?
A benzodiazepine, such as Klonopin, Ativan, (lorazepam), Xanax... etc
I get panic attacks is it fine taking methylphenisolone to help with my allergic reaction?
I have had to take this medication 3 times this year. Each time I experienced a panic attack once during the seven days of pills. I would be sleeping comfortablly then sit straight up in bed with horrible anxiety. Unfortunately, I have to weigh which illness I want treated more.
I have taken this medication for severe lupus arthritis, and have no idea as a clinical social worker with similar issues why in the world anyone would use this medication, usually benzodiazipines are used. Metheal pred will make you more anixious and caused me severe anxiety problems, unless you have an ear infection or they can give you a rationale I would keep looking. I went deaf in one ear and have tinnitus a constant unabated ringing and only find releif with a psy med callled trileptal, 600mg. hopes this helps...
Hey Chris,
Yes, you may, though not all do, feel some dizziness from the methylprednisolone. The common side effects are: dizziness; facial flushing; feeling of whirling motion; headache; increased sweating. You may experience some feelings of restlessness or agitation while taking this medicine which will go away once you stop. If your ears are hurting bad enough then take the medicine. If you experience adverse effects then you can always discontinue.
Best wishes,
Laurie
