Im on Cymbalta 60mg and im going to be switching back to Effexor 150mg but im wondering how do i do it? I have no cymbalta left so tomorrow do i just take the effexor in its place?

Yes, thats exactly how my doctor changed mine.
Hey Jeremy,
While I prefer to slowly taper one before starting the other, you don't have any cymbalta left so you'll have to just start the Effexor. You may experience some withdrawal effects from the Cymbalta such as diarrhea, headache and brain zap sensations. As the Effexor builds in your system you may experience some mild side effects from it such as nausea, headache and tiredness, this will subside with continued use. Probably going to be a rough few days since you didn't taper from the Cymbalta and slowly increase the Effexor, but hang in there, it will pass.

Laurie, can you take both at the same time. I am taking 90 of Duloxetine and my doctor is changing me to 75 of Effexor to start then up to 150 if needed. can I wean down to 60 when I start the Effexor for a week and then 30 for a week and then 30 every other day for a week while I take the effexor
Tapering is a good idea, but you must follow your doctor's instructions. What did the doctor recommend?
