Nucynta (tapentadol) and its metabolites are excreted almost exclusively (99%) via the kidneys. The terminal half-life is on average 4 hours after oral administration. The total clearance is 1530 +/- 177 ml/min.
It takes approximately 5.5 x elimination half life for a medicine to be cleared from ones system. So it would take about 22 hours (5.5 x 4 hours) for Nucynta to be cleared.
