The plasma half-life ranges from 12 to 16 hours. The half-life increases up to 41 hours in patients with severe impairment of renal function.
It takes 5.5 x elimination half life for a medicine to be cleared from ones system. Therefore clonidine will be in one's system for approximately 88 hours (using 16 hours half life ... this may vary).
