Hip Replacement - Does anyone have severe " start-up" pain with first steps after sitting? How long?

10 weeks post anterior hip replacement. I have severe pain when taking the first few steps after sitting. Pain lessens with activity. Have made a lot of progress, but seem to be at a plateau and seeing little improvement. I have finished therapy, but still walking and doing exercises. I thought anterior approach was supposed to be less painful and a quicker recovery. Am I being too impatient?

Yes, I am slow and stiff with pain going down from the hip to the knee and after about 6 steps am better. Somedays it takes more steps to get going. I almost feel like I have Parkinson's by the way I get up from a seated position and then walk with a shuffling type gait.

I am 49yr double hip replacement, 1 from 2012, 2nd last summer. Any time I sleep or especially sit for over 1-1.5 hrs still have severe pain. Had major leg cramps last week after working 3 11 plus hr days straight. I have less pain standing but try to sit 15 min at least 2x/day.
