I am taking metoprolol for heart palpitations but i still have them and I'm having some dull chest pain. Should I stop taking this drug and, if so, what is the drug I should try?

Chest pain normally means a trip to the emergency room, ASAP! This isn't something to be nonchalant about. If the Metoprolol isn't helping than you could have a blockage. Do you smoke or have you ever? Overweigh and lack of exercise and or a poor diet can all lead to heart trouble.
I had a stint put in my right coronary artery, (RCA) over 15 years ago and that's all I needed until a few years ago I was put on three different meds for hypertension, high blood pressure.
These types of questions should be addressed by a physician, preferably a cardiologist.
I wish you the best of care
