I have noticed that about an hour after I take Lexapro my menstrual bleeding becomes quite heavy and the cramping becomes more intense.
Have any women had any problems with heavy menstrual bleeding while on lexapro?

Yes, I had heavy bleeding and cramping that lasted for 2 weeks. I am currently off it. I am 44 years if that helps.
I always bleed heavy so while I was taking lexapro I didn't notice any change but thats not to say it wasn't heavier. I just got off the phone with a friend who is taking lexapro 10mgs a day and she said that since I brought it up she has noticed her periods being more heavy but she didn't realize it could be related to the lexapro.
I spoke with my Pharmacist and he said that it is rare, but, it is possible that the bleeding becomes heavier because Lexapro can slightly thin the blood.
I have always had problems with my cycle. Years ago when I started taking ant-depressants(Prozac, Zoloft... )my cycle became regular. So, maybe it has something to do with seratonin?
I just found out that I do have a blood clotting disorder so maybe that has something to do with it. However the flow definitely becomes heavier and the cramping becomes more intense after I take Lexapro.
