I have taken Diazepam which made me feel a bit fuzzy I was still very anxious. I have been told to take 4 times a day, but do I just take it on the day or before and after also.
Has anyone taken propranolol for acute anxiety ( dental phobia) how did you feel?

Dear beljan... propranolol is a beta blocker that is used for stage fright. It is a cardiac med usually but does have other uses like Pledge has noted.
Beta blockers inhibit or block the outpouring of the sympathetic nervous system which is the nervous system responsible for our fight or flight response. If u block this, yes it will block the sympathetic response ie, increase in heart rate blood pressure, etc. It will not so much block the anxiety that you are experiencing at the dentist. U need a benzo for this. I would increase your amount of the diazepam (Valium) to 10 mg prior to going and c how this helps.
Good luck. Pup
Hello belljan. Not certain if this helps but I have a brother who uses it (propranolol) for his migraine head aches and he swears by it, meaning it does the job, getting rid of them. As to the anxiety I can't say. Best of wishes to you,
