She has a fever and it hasn't gone down with the Ibuprofen alone. Has a slight cough but no other symptoms. Can I give her acetaminophen only an hour after the motrin?
Can I give my child acetamimophen if I already gave her Ibuprofen for her fever an hour ago ?

Yes you can. They work two different ways. If it won't come down and is over 101 she needs to see a dr.
No I would wait they both are fever reducers depending on the age of the child don't want to over dose them. Usually it's 4 to 6 hours. Are you giving the liquid or the chewables? If the Motrin doesn't work than try the other after 4 to 6 hours.
This is incorrect you can give Motrin & Tylenol together. Both can work as fever reducers but not for all children. They work in different ways & as long as you WRITE it down and use as directed, it's fine.
Tylenol is every 4 hrs & Motrin every 6.
So usually if child has a constant fever you swap back n forth.
Just make sure you have 4 hours between each Tylenol dose & 6 hours between each Motrin dose! Don't confuse it. Write it down. :)
