Cost of living is so high I need free medication for my thyroid because I will be taking it for the rest of my life thank you
While I can certainly understand your problem, I have to warn you that going without your thyroid medication is exceedingly dangerous. I was in your position of not being able to have my meds for a month. I ended up in the ICU for a week and was told I had been within about 2 days of falling into an irreversible coma and dying. So, that being said, here's what you can do. Check with your pharmacy and find out exactly which manufacturer they buy their thyroid medications from. Then go to the manufacturer's website. Almost all of them have a program that allows you to receive their medication for free or at a greatly reduced price. You'll have to fill out their forms, and likely speak to one of their representatives about your situation, but it will be worth your efforts. In the meantime, tell your doctor. I understand it's embarrassing, but much better than dying for your pride. Many dr's receive free samples, or discount coupons, from the manufacturers. Plus they're often privy to programs that we may be unaware of that help people pay for their medications. There are programs that can help you in your current situation, but your dr can't help if they don't know you're having difficulties. You should also speak to your pharmacist. They also may have discount coupons, or access to programs, that can help. Again, they can't help if they're unaware of the problem. I'm probably one of the world's worst about asking for help, but my pride and lack of action, almost killed me. Please don't let that happen to you.
Thank you for the info
But just to let you know I don't have a doctor any more. I lost that too, so no insurance and no doctor. Really sucks actually, I'm doing pretty good other than being tired.
Thanks again.
