wondering if I can get over 2.0 with some Diet changes ? I have read Omega 3 fish is good - and I keep getting told not to eat green leafy vegetables (lettuce) and don't drink cranberry juice (I had been going through three bottles of Ocean Spray per week) but from what I read online these would tend to increase INR ?
Are there foods which tend to thin the blood - my INR has plateued at 1.8 for the last month, I am?

Steelerfan,
What INR does your Dr. want you to be at?
If the range is between 2.0 - 2.5. that is were my Dr. tries to keep me in that range.
I too have a blood disorder, called Factor 5 Lieden. If your Dr. had set a range for you the only way to thin your blood out is to increase your Warafrin.
But your Dr. should inform you as to the increase amount & re-check.
As far as the foods Not to eat on your list that is completely right. Also as far as green vegetables just to let you know that the Darker the leaf the more Vitamin K is in it. If you are concerned with your INR # then please contact your Dr.
Best of luck Kathy
If you are taking warfarin you should not eat food high in vit K. Vit K is the antidote for warfarin and counteracts it. Foods with Vit K include those green leafy vegs. and cranberry juice. The would decrease the inr.
