I was on prescription omeprazole 40mg once in the morning and famotidine 20mg once at bedtime for severe acid reflux but I lost my insurance because I recently lost my job, so I only have a bottle of OTC 20mg famotidine and I need something for during the day, would it be okay to take one in the morning and one at night?
Famotidine 20mg OTC need to take one in am as well?

I believe Omeprazole (Prilosec) can be purchased OTC at a reasonable price. OTC comes in 20mg 42 count you would use 21 of them to meet your need (40mg). It may be too costly for your budget. Google this -- OTC Omeprazole -- and check costs. Pepcid (famotidine) is an H2 blocker, Omeprazole is a PPI (proton pump inhibitor) they act differently in getting the job done. So, check with your doctor. Google Famotidine OTC as well, the generic name is always less cost. Your doctor should have no problem with OTC and / or generics. The Famotidine will cost less, and the doctor may be okay with dropping the Omeprazole from the Rx. I suggest you use Drugs.com to research all your drugs. You can learn details that are very useful in knowing how to relate to your doctor.
