Been on XARELTO twice. First time for a DVT in Dec 2016, on XARELTO for
111 days. Then in Aug 2017 had a PE. Was put back on XARELTO since Aug and still taking it. I have gained 20 lbs,
Since Aug. Leg, thigh muscle pain, low back flank pain, Walking up & down stairs. Getting in and out of my SUV & Van. All since I have been on the XARELTO.
Hi Beverley, I have experienced exactly the same as you, it’s very depressing and I had no warning to this side effect. I have put on over 2 stones and have a bloated tummy all the time. The aches and joint pains are similar too. I am told it’s near impossible to lose the weight and water tablets don’t work either. If you fancy having a further chat about this please let me know.
hi i also notice the weight gain on xarelto. i'm 29 the first time i took it in 2014 for 3 month DVT. and again in January for PE . since January i gain 40 pounds .. my diet does not change and it is difficult to lose weight . do you pass through something like this? if you don't mind we can talk about it
If you ever strain to the point of getting little capillary breakage it could be a problem. I mean like the little red spots in your eyes.
Xarelto effects clotting not blood thinning. I can only say none impact and no rugby/football would be best. Pumping iron on a machine or free weights should be safe as long as no muscle tearing. For me newer rowing machines are great and using machine station for humping is better. Less chance of me dropping a barbell or dumb bell on me. As far as running and team sports the problem is high chance of impact injuries. Even with a helmet on I wouldn't want to get a head bang/trauma while on Xarelto. Brain bleed.
