I found the cortisone injection extremely painful. How does the pain compare to the Euflexxa injection? I'm 67 and need to do something. I still work full time and I can't keep going like this.
How does getting an Euflexxa injection compare to getting the cortisone injection?

The Euflexxa injection is about on par with the cortisone one. The fluid being injected is kind of a gel- based one, so the needle has to accommodate that. I didn't find it to be all that bad. Generally ice and ibuprofen handled it. It's done in a series of 3 shots about a week apart. This gives each shot time to spread between the bone and form a layer of protection. Results can vary, of course, but I found it to be very effective in reducing the amount of pain I was having from walking bone on bone. If it's possible, you might try scheduling your injections right before your days off. Light, mild exercise helps spread the fluid, but also allows you time to rest and ice it should you need to. I hope this helps!
