Since lexapro is a narcotic is it habit forming? My daughter is taking 10mg for her anxiety.

First of all, where did you get the mistaken idea that lexapro is a narcotic? It isn't a controlled drug or an opiod. Its an ssri anti depressant. It causes physical dependence to the point that you have to wean off of it, but its not a drug of abuse. She will be just fine on it. If the time ever comes for her to stop it, she will just have to taper the dose down. Physical dependence isn't what people mean when they say habit forming or addicting. Its just a normal way our body responds to some medications.
