I lost my father about 5 months again and started to get very low and emotional and didn’t want to be here anymore which is unlike me. I was very reluctant to take tablets from the doctor but I did about 2 weeks ago and I must say I have notice an improvement in my self and also the ppl around have which I’m pleased with. But they’re just one thing! I have have bad diarrhea since taking these tablets, I have carried on taking them but still no change in bowels. I feel that stopping them will send me back to the place I don’t want to be at but on the other had my body can’t take this side affect and I am losing weight rapidly now. Any advice would be great before I seek advice from my doctor, which I struggle to do. Many thanks

Hi, Dan!
Diarrhea when starting most antidepressants is common but generally resolves within a couple of weeks.
"Gastrointestinal
Very common (10% or more of users): Nausea (up to 18.3%), diarrhea (up to 14%)"
If you have trouble speaking with your doctor talk to your pharmacist who may be able to recommend OTC remedies that won't interact with your medication. There are many on the market that can be very effective until this settles down on it's own.
