I know I need to eat with Viibryd. I was doing whole meals but I'm trying to watch my weight so I was wondering what I can/should eat before I take it? Is yogurt ok to eat? Do I have to eat a lot?
What can/should I eat to take Viibryd with? Is it ok to eat yogurt?

Mrs Crow, i conçut with taking Viibryd with a real meal, but not too close to bedtime. There are some people who claim they have gained ridiculous amounts of weight on Viibryd but this was not found to be true for the majority of participants in the drug trials. In the past 9 months, have gained no weight whatsoever that I could blame on Viibryd.
Best Regards,
Frenchie
My doctor told me to take it with my heaviest meal of the day. I just hope I can get this weight off.
I had more between annoying side effects at the increase from10 to 20. I suspect that by 40 our systems may have actually accepted it. I really noticed very little stepping up to 40. I've felt great ever since. Hopefully it will be a good transition for you as well

Lennongurrrrrrl,
Do I recall correctly that you are still on Viibryd 20, or have you stepped up to 40 yet? Is your GI system settling down, I hope?
Best,
Frenchie
I'll be starting the 40 on Friday. I'm sure I'll have some stomach issues for a bit then hopefully it'll settle down like it has at 10 then 20.
Let's see... in July last year my MD and I concluded that after 7 years, Wellbutrin had stopped being effective for me. It wasn't just overnight, but I began to realize the familiar old feelings of despair had returned. I started Viibryd (reluctantly,) in late July or early August, 2012. So... it will soon be 8 months and the unpleasant side effects are in the rear view mirror. I'm really fortunate that I hung in there. It has been a remarkable drug for me. Hope you're doing better as well.

I started it in November of 2011 so I guess I've been taking it longer than you really. Weird! I just took two months off to try something else.
Wow! Exact same story for me, except that I've been on Wellbutrin for more than 20+ years. Psrink has retained the Wellbutrin, but added Viibryd using starter pack.
I had been on Viibryd for 2 wks, and told Psrink I still had constant OCD obsessive fearful thoughts CONSTANTLY. The very next day, ALL the fearfull thoughts disappeared ENTIRELY! Never in my 62 years had that EVER happened on ANY medicine! It has been 5 days since it kicked in. For some reason, today, I am a little bit down, but, I am still much better than I've ever been before. The 4 days prior to today were heaven for me. I never expected that any non-Benzo drug could far exceed the Benzos that I always had to settle for. Psrink gave me Clonopin to take to "take the edge off" the period before the Viibryd kicked in, and after, for the remaining anxiety after the Viibryd did kick in. But, I now have NO ANXIETY AT ALL. I feel much more capable in taking care of myself.
Those OCD fearfull thoughts never permitted me to feel that way before Viibryd. Just FYI, my OCD did not include obsessive ritual behaviors, so, I can't speak to Viibryd's effectiveness for that condition. But, if it destroys the fearfullness for those that are fearfull if they don't perform a ritual behavior, you're home free, folks. Many people experience GI problems such as diarrhea. It did affect my digestion, too, but even that was a miracle. The last 20 years of severe constipation, that could not be resolved, is totally gone! There are no 4-day old, huge, hard-as-rock stools. Sometimes I go to the bathroom twice in one day! I guess that the large percentage of folks that get diarrhea had no constipation to begin with. I had no stomach discomfort on Viibryd. Just a slight headache on the right forehead area when I took the first dose. Tinnitus has increased for me, but I can live with that.
They say that the GI side effects eventually go away. In my case, I pray that my GI side effect NEVER goes away.
I know that everyone is different, and not everyone will respond as I have to the Viibryd, as I am responding. I wish all of you to find the right medicine for your unique problems.
In short, as far as I'm concerned, Viibryd might put both Miralax and the Benzo drugs out of business.
Hi dear lennongurl,
I was actually thinking about you today! It sounds like you're hanging in with the Viibryd. I found that I did better eating something pretty substantial with my AM dose, not just a glass of milk. I'm happy to say that after a couple months all the GI discomfort stopped entirely.
I take it now with just a little food or with my protein drink, (which has yogurt in it.) i actually think the yogurt culture is a good thing. I assume you're taking it in the morning?
Let me know how you're doing please. As you know, I'm the Viibryd Queen!
Your Friend,
Frenchie
When did you start taking Viibryd?
Hi, I'm in my second month of taking viibryd (I'm now on 40 mg) and other than feeling a little spacey at some times during the day, I'm not sure I know if it's working. Exactly how mich did you eat and at what time did you take it? Also, I maybe had 4 GI occasions (during the starter pack but I never knew when or which does they would occur.
I replied to your posting, but it seems I accidentally attached it to a different posting from someone else... Please see my reply below and pl EXPAND the to see the whole comment.

I noticed taking viibryd during the morning instead of night I’m seeping a lot better and I’m gonna try it for the first time with just my protein shake
Yep..my doc told me to eat at least a piece of toast or cereal or somrthing with a little substance to it , or the Viibryd will not be as effective.

Hello lennongurl. To the best of my knowledge, there are no dietary restrictions when a person ts taking Viibryd. Most all medications are taken with some sort of food. Helps the bodys chemistry to process the drug more easily and comfortably. Regards pledge
