I use Miralax. It doesn't always work the next day but when I take it 2 days in a row then I am able to go. I like Miralax because it's not habit forming and safe enough to use on young children. It helps draw water into your intestines thus softening your stool. I always drink plenty after taking it to help.
Dulcolax isn't especially powerful - you may need an additional laxative agent to help move the bowels, to increase the dose or simply give it more time. If you haven't been able to go several days, then a call to the doctor is also a good idea.
