I do not have migraines. I occasional have throbbing headaches. Which is better?
Doctor wants me to take escitalopram or diivalprox. I am 90 years old

Neither medication makes sense. One is for depression and the other is for seizures.
Try finding a neurologist specializing in migraines, in the meantime try taking these at bedtime
-400mg Vitamin B2
-400mg Magnesium
I take Nurtec 75mg just recently; before I was taking Flurbifrofen 100mg for my morning migraines ( 2 x day)

Divalproex sodium is also prescribed as a mood stabilizer alone or in combination with an antidepressant for depression/mood swings.
