Yes you do have to taper off, usually over a one week period. Stopping bbenztropine abruptly can cause you to suffer tremors, tachycardia, insomnia, and EPS (involuntary movements sort of like Parkinsons disease). Ask your doctor to help you with the taper. Hope this helps.
