why do we need to use intramuscular route to inject drugs in a person?what are the main reasons?
Some medications can't be given any other way, digestives enzymes destroy it. Some its just because it works faster. Some are because it is a depo shot and stays there and works longer. Sometimes its a case of the patient will not take it orally. Some drugs can cause stomach problems if taken orally, so it is given IM. Some medications are much more effective that way.
