How to discontinue low dose risperidone?

Hi, please check the risperidone website it self, you need to cut off/scrape the meds no matter how small it is. Please get a medication/jewelry scale, I got it from Amazon. The doctor also gave Valium to help, then we weaning off the Valium too. A nutritionist was a big help, he gave magnesium and methyl B complex. My husband is off from psychiatric medications for 5 months, the withdrawal was lingering for months. He is better day by day. A talk therapy and social supports were a big help.

Hello, were you able to taper off Risperdal? I need your advise too. I take .50 mg and will start to take .25 mg starting today for 1 month but don’t know how to continue the taper after that because .25 mg is the lowest dose. Should I take it every other day after one month?

I'm unusual in that I rarely have any side effects or discontinuation symptoms but I stopped risperidone abruptly under my doctor's orders with no problem at all.
If you think you need to stop your medication ask your doctor to provide a tapering dose schedule for you to follow. I wouldn't be too sure of following any advice or recommendations you might get on the internet.
