In order to discontinue use of atorvastatin calcium 40 mg tablets which I have been taking for 8 days at the dosage of 1 per day with 81 mg aspirin 1 per day, do I need to gradually reduce the dosage over time or can I stop my intake instantly? I am only asking insofar as physical reaction to discontinuation of the drug is concerned.

After only 8 days your stopping? This drug lowers overall cholesterol, ldl and triglycerides . Rises hdl and works as an anti inflammatory in your vascular system. If anything I’d think about the aspirin , it effects you gastro intestinal track with long term use. The only good advice is to stop read all the horror stories and take your doctor’s advice. She/he is the one with a medical degree and has your best interest at heart.
