Do they both treat anxiety the same. What is the difference between the two?

Very simple.
Xanax is a benzo made with a very quick half life, used more so for panic attacks vs panic disorder.
Xanax will allow you to feel relief from an anxiety attack within minutes, as where Klonopin with a much longer half life may take a while longer to grab effect, but will stay in your system much longer than Xanax.
Xanax, and Klonopin both work great for Anxiety, but I do not suggest mixing the 2.
The better medication, especially for long term use (without building a benzo tolerance so fast) is Klonopin.
Klonopin has a half life that can last up to 30 hours.
Xanax unfortunately only has a half life of 16+ hours, in which by that time depending on how strong your mind is, will be in a bad state of w/d if not ingested.
But you should look into GABA which is an even safer non benzo that helps people with Anxiety.
Benzos are hell. Even with panic disorder, I wish I would have never touched one.
Hope this helps.
Best.
