Hi! I know this question is old so hopefully you don't need my answer anymore, but here goes. You're doing pretty much everything I could suggest for a lancet, with the exception of trying different parts of the finger. I would suggest the fleshiest part of your fingertip if possible. Theoretically, you can also try your big toe, but that can be pretty uncomfortable and inconvenient.
However! Just because you can't manage to get fingersticks to work for you doesn't mean you're out of luck entirely - I would recommend asking your doctor for either a Flash Glucose Monitor (like the Freestyle Libre) or a Continuous Glucose Monitor (like the Dexcomm series) which do not require drawing blood. Since you're type 2, you're likely to have good success with the Freestyle, as it is not capable of connecting to an insulin pump but you likely don't need that.
Good luck!
