Hi, SweetLara! Sorry that you are still not feeling well... as far as the nausea, look in the vitamin section of your grocery store/drug store for papaya enzyme. They are chewable tablets and they work pretty well and taste good, too. Au natural, baby!! I also have a rx for reglan, a digestive stimulant, to help with nausea for when I get a migraine or just to take to keep things moving to combat the side effects of pain medication and Lyrica slowing things down. That works well, too but I have heard that some people have a bad reaction to it. I have heard that peppermint helps a lot with nausea and stomach issues so I think that's a good tip. I have made tea with fresh ginger many times because I have heard that ginger is good for pain, but have never tried it for nausea. My mom used to give us coke syrup when we were little for our tummys! Great tips I'm reading from everyone!! Something's gotta work for you!! Feel better soooon!!! -Shannon
Hi sweets, sorry you're not feeling well. What works for me everytime is flat ginger ale. The ginger helps with an upset stomach or any GI issues. If you can go to the styore and get some fresh ginger cut it up and boil it into a tea that would even be better too. Hope you feel better

I have fibromyalgia and take many medicines and I am nauses often. I find instant relief with peppermint. I chew on a fresh mint leaf and try to relax and I feel much better. Sometimes at work I'll chew on a piece of peppermint gum and that helps as well. But the thing that works the best for me is mint leaves. I hope this helps. Let me know. Penny
The best thing I have seen as a natural remedy is not legal in a lot of places. It is pot. I do not say use it to just get high but it does settle your stomach and helps with appetite. It is used with cancer patients on chemo or radiation. It is also great for pain. I wish more states would legalize for true medical uses. Just an opinion. thanks and get well soon.
I have also heard that too.
Marijuana is prescribed in Canada for cancer patients suffering from nausea and vomiting.

Ace and Jandelles,
I do have some legal MJ, yet am loathe to try it. But may cave at any moment because Zofran is giving me some unpleasant side effects!!
Thank you both,
Lara
There is a pill called Miradol that is the legal pot. I take it for gastroparesis it helps with the nausea BUT its side effect is it makes you hungry with is not good with gastroparesis
Hey Lara, sorry that you are not feeling well!! You have been given the best advice that there is, and understand completely as I have nausea DAILY!! I have taken A-Z medications, and the best ones are Phenergan suppositories (they bypass the stomach), and Zofran, or ondenesteron. That comes ODT, not the pills, and you let it dissolve UNDER your tongue, again bypassing the stomach.
If these things do not help you AT ALL, which for a time, that was my problem, then you can take your own shots of either phenergan or vistaril (sorry that I don't know the generic name). Some docs are hesitant to prescribe syringes to patients, but let me tell you, it works, and it works FAST. There is nothing more miserable than being nauseas.
Finally, NEVER underestimate the healing powers of ginger tea. You might want to go to a health food store and just take ginger capsules, but if you are like I was, nothing would stay down in my stomach, hence the suppositories first, then the shots.
Your body can get into such a state that you simply cannot get anything down, and you have to retrain your autonomic response. That's where the suppositories and shots come in. Once your body is retrained, then you can go for pills. Zofran used to not work for me, and it is considered one of those miracle drugs that was discovered for chemo patients. Now, I don't need the shots nor the suppositories (though I keep the suppositories on hand, just in case), and i take at least one zofran (odenesteron) everyday.
Good luck sweetie. You sure have so many friends who care about you :-))

Hey hon,
I haven't got any thing to add to the list.Ginger works for me.what is causes this? Can you get to dr? I wish I could help more.I feel useless, but I am sending gentle hugs,I hope you feel some relief soon.c
Hey Lara - First let me say that when you're feeling 'barfy' all the time it feels like a dire circumstance. I too suffer from nausea on a daily basis. Mine is due to all my abdominal surgeries, especially my colectomy. All the responses have been wonderful and I don't really have anything new to add. What Liz said is exactly what works for me Phenergan (Promethezine) works best for me but can make you very drowsy. That is a bonus for me since I have such a problem sleeping! As far as home remedies go, like some of the others, ginger works very well. I don't like the tea so I bake cookies or just buy a bag of ginger snaps. Peppermint works well also. I keep a bag of the soft peppermints beside my comfy chair. I hope that some of these things work for you sweetie! I will as always keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Big hugs.
Your friend,
Terri
boy do i know this one all to well. Do you have allergies as i do and boy do i get tired of the throwing up and so sick to my stomach it's awful. Have you tried buying coke syrup from the pharmacy? Ginger tea works. I also drink ginger ale but shake the carbonation out of it so it's flat as the bubbles make me throw up. I also sip on chicken broth for some nutrition. Also peppermint might help. you can also make a anti nausea syrup by taking 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water heat till syrup is clear and when cool enough take one to two tablespoons as needed. If none of that works get back to me as i have many home remedies Let me know if i helped you any please Leron
Oh yeah-I forgot about Coke syrup-my MIL and husband swear by that stuff.
yeah i love my coke syrup but as i said i have so many herbal healing books with suggestions in it if none of the stuff i wrote to you works i have plenty more where those came from Leron
I have heard alittle sugar on the end of a teaspoon??? who knows!
Welcome back, Von... you were missed!
Love n hugs,
Tee
thanks
A teaspoon of sugar works for hiccups too! Did you know that? My brother told me that one day we were talking on the phone & I had the hiccups so bad he suggeded I try it & it works immediately if you can get by the sweet taste.!
mary, I heard that too
It does work for hiccups. I have tried it before and it does work!
Hello Lara,
I am sorry to read you are not well, it does get to me you know that.
You might want to give Zofran a try.
"Zofran (ondansetron) blocks the actions of chemicals in the body that can trigger nausea and vomiting."
https://www.drugs.com/zofran.html
I wish you well.
All my love,
A.
I agree with Maso. I take Zofran for all the nausea & vomiting I have due to the gastroparesis. It works real quick and very well. Maybe you could try this. Ask for the generic ad namebrand is very expensive! Please feel better soon.
Love n hugs,
Tee
I also agree with Andres. I hope you feel bettter, all my love, good luck, John.
Medication: i think best medication is " Domperidone " for vomiting ..should be taken before meal..
Home remedy: .. i use yogurt along with meal , it helps in preventing the vomiting condition. but yogurt should be homemade , it shouldn't be bottle yogurt of something .. i hope you would know the process of making yogurt at home :)
Compazine has helped best for me 10mg tabs, but need to figure out what is making you nauseated first! Some swear by ginger root Tea. Can buy it at grocery store in produce. Try black tea with honey too. I have used that many of a time for tummy issues. If it's your oxycodone you may have to change dose or to another med. Just your Sis' thoughts...
Is that first Gaelic?-I recognize God but can only guess at the rest... One that works pretty good is just ginger tea. Slice fresh ginger into water and boil it. Strain off the ginger, add sweetner and sip once it is cooled enough. Peppermint works pretty good too. I used to drink peppermint or spearmint tea for nausea too. As for a drug-just good ole prochlorperazine works for me-you can get it in pills and suppositories although the suppository burn, if you ask me! So sorry you are feeling bad-do you have the stomach flu or what?
Hi, sorry your not feeling so great not sure if I can help much. I suffer from nausea on a daily basis, I take Promethazine and it works fast and lasts. Ginger is good for nausea, I bake ginger cookies and munch on these to help plus making your own cookies you can control the amount of Ginger you put in that helps with your level of nausea. Feel better soon. Liz
