Been on Depo for years, I see on this site others are now having issues with spotting and bleeding that they never had. Now have same issues. Does anyone know what changed in the Depo Provera medication?

In 2016 they approved Generics for Depo Provera (TM) (Manufacturer Pfizer /Pharmica Upjohn). The new generics are Mylan and Greenstone (which seriously-- no really-- seriously, you can buy the Greenstone at the Tractor Supply Store because it's small farm animal grade). It's very apparent that it is different because of the packaging. After being on Depo Provera for 17 years (at that time in 2016), my entire world was usurped after receiving the Greenstone version. The Mylan version is SNEAKY. They matched the same purple color, font, and packaging- so at first glance- you would think it was still the Pfizer-- but it's not. They may say they have the same ingredients- but you could tell the difference between Chip Ahoys and Pepperidge Farm Chocolate Chips cookies- it's all about where they get their "good" ingredients and how they synthesize them. Thus, to answer your question, this is the change that I know of that could possibly make an impact.
I'm not aware of anything changing with Depo Provera, but I am aware of a lot of women reporting menstrual irregularities on the official reporting sites, after they had one of the new C Vrus injections. I thought I'd mention it in case you'd recently had one & the problems had started afterwards.
Irregular bleeding is something I always got when on Depo for 18 years. They had to bring my injections forward to about 10 weeks, instead of 12, to stop any bleeding in between injections.
