day 4 of lexapro and i am having tingling and a weird sensation in both arms. i have had the same feeling in my legs, has anyone else had this effect and does it or did it go away? i have never had anything like this before, so i know it has to be related to the lexapro. the dr said its not a dangerous side effect and to stick with the medication, but i am a little worried. thanks for your thoughts

Hello mamaoftwo, & welcome to the site. I agree with Pledge on his answer. First of all is it your PCP that is prescribing this med? If so, If it were me I would consider a psychiatrist for any of these type of medications. PCP's are great for you every day illnesses, but unless his degree include medicine for depreasion & other mental disease, he is not really qualified to be prescibing you these meds. I am giving you the link below to read about Lexapro. The symptoms you describe sound like muscle problems & shold be addressed right away. It may not be a dangerous side effect, but then who really knows what is dangerous for one, maybe mild for another. At any rate, there are plenty of different drugs to try that may not carry any side effects. I wish you the best & have a great weekend...

Mary, I did answer this person earlier on, in much the same type of question... pledge
Hey Mary, Internet's been down. Just sent you an email. Ruthie
yes pledge you did answer a similar question of mine before but these were new symptoms with my arms so that is why i posted another question
mamaoftwo, I have had this happen to me a few times when I started a new antidepressant. Scared the hibbie jibbie's out of me. But it only lasted a few days. My dr. put me on Wellbutrin 3 months ago, and I felt very weird the first few days, and then it went away and I felt so much better mentally. I hope you're side effects go away soon. I know how it makes you feel. It's no walk in the park. Feel better soon. And call your dr. back if it doesn't subside. Take care, and best wishes to you. Your friend, Ruthie
Ruthie, thank you very much for your post. I felt like I was the only one who might have this happened. I am trying to stick it out. The feelings in the arms and legs has started getting better, so thats a relief. I am hoping this medication will help with the anxiety, so far I think it may be doing something, I have been more calm. Thanks again for your response. I really appreciate it. Hope all goes well for you as well. CT
Oh hon. You are not the only one who experience's these things. Sometimes I have been prescribed medications and waited to get them filled because I was scared how they would make me feel. I was having horrible mental issue's about 3 months ago. Uncontrollable crying, ups and downs, ect.. My doctor added Lamictal, then Wellbutrin. I was leary of the Wellbutrin at first. And it did make me feel a little weird for a couple of days. Then I felt so much better. The crying stopped. I leveled out. Different meds work for different people. I'm going to friend you, and you write to me anytime you need or want to. K? I'm here to help any way I can. You hang in there, and don't let this get you down. Just remember... you can always get off of it if it doesn't work for you, and start something else. I had to do that several times before I found the right combo for me. Take care and no worries. Your friend, Ruthie
Hello mamaooftwo. I would get second opinion. If you are unable to see another doctor, a call to your pharmacist or any pharmacy for that matter for thier opinion on your question. Best of wishes, pledge
Good morning Pledge! Got a hot cuppa , care to join me? Have a good weekeknd... Mary
Sounds good to me Mary! You have a super fine one :-0)
Don't put it in a persons drink container. It's best to control dosage with some awareness. Could become fatal.
