Does anyone have any experience with cymbalta related hair loss? After stopping the cymbalta how long until your hair stopped falling out/grew back?
I've tested negative for literally everything and there is no findings for genetic hair loss per a biopsy result. I've been on cymbalta 30mg for about 3 years now, and take every supplement they tell you to take for hair loss (iron, zinc, biotin, complex b, hair skin and nails, DIM, fish oil, VD3), including a 15% minoxidil. I also take sprintec (birth control). I'm a young female and active I exercise 4-5 times a week for at least 30 minutes.

Yes, I experienced excessive hair loss after my Dr increased the dose to 60 mg daily. I had to wear a wig, my hair came out in handfuls. I weaned myself off and with the advice of my hairdresser , started taking vitamin E. I also started using minoxidil lotion otc on my scalp twice a day. After several months my hair is back thick and curly. I've always had straight hair. I wouldn't use cymbalta or the generic duloxetine again.

Hi Jessica0902. I started taking Cymbalta over 10 years ago and I lost a lot of my hair. I once had a full head of healthy hair but Cymbalta changed that for me. I would find my hair everywhere. It would clog up my bathtub drain and every time I brushed my hair the brush would be full of my hair. That was only one of the many horrible side effects I had from Cymbalta. When I realized that all my problems were from Cymbalta I started to slowly taper off. I started tapering off in 2017 and I’m down from 60 mg to 1.3 mg now. I’m no longer losing my hair and it’s starting to look healthy again. I have talked to many people who have had the same problem with losing their hair while taking Cymbalta and they are all now tapering off it. Take care and I wish you the best. Cindy59
