I am a 27 year old female who was diagnosed with sciatica 6 years ago. 2 weeks ago my lower back went into a spasm that ran down my left leg into my foot, I can't feel my big toe and the top of my foot. I was given a Valium and 2 other pain meds in shots. The E.R doc said to take 10 mg flexiril for pain 3 times a day. The day after my incident I was cometely drugged up. Slept all day and night. Not sure if its from the hospital drugs or the flexiril I took the day after. Does the flexiril help with sciatica as well as muscle spasms!!!
Cyclobenzaprine - Does the flexiril 10 mg help with sciatica?

When I think of drowiness as a #1 side effect, I automatically think of flexiril. It takes awhile before that fades. Sciatica is so not fun and it soumds like you got it bad. Do you see a Physical Therapist? Pelvic tilts seem to help, if you can get past the pain. Speaking of pain, yes if you muscles can relax with the flexiril then I guess them perscribing it for 'pain' makes sense. Really though, I hope they have you on something for the pain that is labled for pain relief.
All my best to you!
Flexeril is used in the treatment of muscle spasm; sciatica and belongs to the drug class skeletal muscle relaxants.
