Can I cut amitriptyline pills in half?

They can be cut in half its a little tricky as they dont have a cut marker, but swallow straight away. These tablets will literally make you be sick if they stay in your mouth too long or get stuck in your throat.
According to my pharmacists the answer is yes. The tablets are not enteric-coated, they are film-coated. Also they are not sustained or extended release. Use a good pill cutter and swallow right after splitting.
