I cannot take codeine so I took the same cough syrup, but over the counter. I did not need a prescription for it. It was green.
I am looking for a cough medicine that I took about 22 years ago. The dr prescribed it with codeine?

Terpin hydrate with codeine. too bad people abused it. It really worked when I had a really bad sore throat.
It was definately novahistine. I drank it every morning for allergies. It was green. Cant find it anymore. This was back in the late 70s.
Are you thinking of Triaminic? Triminic had several different formulas of different colors.
No it wasn't Triaminic... although I did take Triaminic as a child and have used it for my children.
I remember it, too bad those days are long gone! I'm trying to remember the name of it, I can see the bottle in my mind but the name... ugh! I'll post it when I remember. Hope this helps.
I kept thinking last night... could it be Novahistine? or something like that? I tried looking it up online but it was all prescription. Thanks!
