I started using Compound W to remove a plantars wart on the ball of my foot. This is the third day of treatment and the pain around the area has increased significantly. Is it normal for the treatment to hurt more than the plantars wart did?

Answers
DO NOT USE COMPOUND W FOR PLANTAR WARTS. These are not the same kind of thing and if you get it on the healthy skin, it will destroy that too, and with feet and the way circulation gets bad,you can end up with a bad infection or lossing your foot. See a podiatrist for care of plantar warts.
Your reply is incorrect. Below is from Compound W web page.
Directions
Wash affected area
May soak wart in warm water for 5 minutes
Dry area thoroughly
Using applicator, apply one drop at a time to sufficiently cover each wart
Let dry
Repeat this procedure once or twice daily as needed (until wart is removed) for up to 12 weeks
Uses
For the removal of common and plantar warts
The common wart is easily recognized by the rough cauliflower-like appearance of the surface
The plantar wart is recognized by its location only on the bottom of the foot, its tenderness and the interruption of the footprint pattern
