Is clindamycin an appropriate antibiotic for an infected ingrown toenail?

I also have a problem with ingrown toenails. Both of my big toes are affected. I believe it's from wearing 4 inch heels for ten years. (I worked as an exotic dancer). Anyway, back to your question. Clindamycin was also prescribed for me, and the infection cleared up fast. If you acquired it from your physician, it should help you too. Good luck. I know the pain can be unbearable.
