I have just been change from 5 mg of amlodipine to 10mg 3 days ago as my blood pressure was 212/136?

Clonidine. for blood pressure will drop it like a rock. My blood pressure was running 240/140 in the doctors office. They sent me home. Gave me Clonidine, metroproplo, spelling? I am also diabetic. On Met formin and glipizide.

I have following suggestions.
1.Reduce food at the dinner time by 30%.2. Take fat free milk and go veggie.
3.Start YOGA practice slowly and do Shavsana (corpse pose) at least 2 times a day for 15/20 minutes.4.Do Pranaym called Anulom-Vilom--Take breath for 2 1/2 seconds from left nostril and exhale for same time thru right nostril.Repeat from right to left and do this for 50 times and 3 times a day.5.Pray and Meditate..Do creative visualisation that BP is coming down and suggest your brain and see in Mind's eye that YOU ARE OK--- God Bless-

I think you need to talk to your Dr again. You are a stroke waiting to happen and stroke symptoms will often occur on one side of the body. If you experience numbness on one side of your face, weakness on one side of the body, difficulty speaking etc. you need to call 911. Not to scare you but this high of blood pressure can be serious. They amy need to give you some quicker acting meds to bring it down faster. Call your Dr NOW and talk to him, tell him all your symptoms. If he wont see you, you may want to go to Urgent Care or ER.

Both are side effects of the amlodipine. You can take something like advil or aleve for the headache.
