Im treating a bulging disc in my back and basically want to stop taking vicodin. I do not want to become dependent more so than i already am and am really struggling to stop taking them. Will switching to Tramadol help ease withdrawal symptoms? Still work for the pain. I feel the pain is getting better from doing my daily stretches, now just dealing with aches from the medicine.

You can mix them, for instance if the tram is not getting it done for pain and you need the vicodin for break through pain to stop or slow down the pain cycle. They should work together fine and may even be a synergist to each other. There is alot of diff info out on trams and they are unique to other common pain meds because they also have an SNRI effect. I worry about people liking the "HIGH" than any problem with medicine interaction between the two. Beaware large doses of tramadol may cause siezures. Hope this helps.
