without talking to the doctor who gave you this medication I don't think it's a safe idea to be taking alcohol in any anount with a drug which already is a strong pain medication, I have been on these types of drugs since 2000, this drug given with anything (only a one time thing) can cause upper respiratory depression, and also not knowing your medical history it is taking chances, a talk with the prescribing doctor should be brought to his attention! I wish you only the very very best, I want you to have the best outcome that is possible,
Hey teresawheeler,
Taking percocet with alcohol particularly right after surgery is not a good idea. What kind of trouble are you having with the percocet? Maybe if you give us more info we can be of further help.
Best wishes,
Laurie
You say 325 which I believe is the tylenol in your percocet. There should be another number before that, either 5 or 7.5 or 10. These are the different strenghts. You really should not be drinking & mixing pain pills. If you're on the 5/325mg., & just had surgery, I would call the doctor, & see if you can take 2 at a time. This would better affect good results in your pain care. That of course is up to your doctor. They never consider mixing alcohol & pain pills. Hope this helps you out. I just had surgey on my left hand 2 weeks ago & it's still hurting like heck, & I take hydrocodone 10/325mg. Hope this is of help to you...
