I have been on flexeril for only one week and I have gained 6.5 pounds since starting this medication, is that normal? Can it just be making my body retain fluid?
Can flexeril can weight gain or bloating?

Yes, apparently!
I just began taking Flexeril bc of a car accident and whiplash. The medication works for me but I have noticed my weight creep up about 6.3 lbs even with working out 4x a week!! My mom has noticed my belly looks bigger and so have I.
Nothing else has changed for me.
I also noticed I am not as regular as I used to be before Flexeril. And it is harder to pee and empty my bladder. This is very frustrating.
But it's the only thing that helps the pain and stops the dizzying migraines that lead to full-blown nausea I get from my neck injury.
I also noticed my mood has not been as happy. I also feel more tired in general and less motivated. Tiredness is to be expected, I read.
So I tried to stop taking it but the pain returned big time plus the migraines, but I lost a little over a lb during the couple days off. But the pain drove me back to it.
I just did some research online and found that yes, weight gain is a side effect.
And yes I believe it causes fluid retention, too. I look puffier and bloated. I get horrible dry mouth from it and drink water like all day all night. Then it is hard to empty my bladder. The fluid must be going somewhere. I will know for sure when I stop in a day or two.
I also had been on it for about 5 days and gained the 6.3 lbs.
