No, it is NOT safe to cut them in half. Doing so will break the matrix of the patch and easily result in the release of all the medicine in the cut patch all at once leading to an overdose. If your Dr. prescribed a full 75 mg patch, then use the full 75 mg patch. If you are concerned it may be too strong, call the prescribing physician to discuss your concerns and perhaps he/she can prescribe a lower starting dose.
Also, please read ALL of the inserts; prescribing information, instructions for use, adverse effects, dosing guidelines, etc., etc., on every prescription you take, every time you get a new prescription or refill, as information may change. Your physicians office is always an invaluable resource!
You are best of starting at the 75 MICRO gm tab as prescribed. Yours is a starting dose and may need increasing.
