I have had a bad smell in my nose for the past few months and people around me can smell it. They told me it smells fruity or like urine.
I have tried gargling, steam, and sprays such as saline and Avamys when I went to an ENT specialist to get help for my blocked nose. The Avamys unblocked my nose, but I think it made the smell worse. The ENT specialist told me that I might have nasal polyps.
I have also mostly lost my sense of smell.
I have noticed that after drinking or eating a lot, the smell disappears for a bit. For example, I drank a lot of soup once and the next day my nose and throat felt clear. I also have to sleep sideways on my arm or else I wake up with an aching throat and a lot of mucus build up.
Bad smell from nose for months?

A fruity smell can be an indication of diabetes. Have your blood sugar checked.
I had a blood test done and my glucose was normal.
