I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder 1 on August 2020. I am taken Vraylar 3mg but I can't concentrate in school or work and my psychiatrist prescribed atomoxetine 18mg to help with my concentration and complete my work, but I read in an article that atomoxetine is not good for bipolar disorder?
Is is OK to take atomoxetine 18mg with Vraylar 3mg?

Hi, elgordito!
Atomoxetine has been known to cause hypomania in some cases so your doctor should be monitoring you closely for any symptoms.
There is no interaction between it and Vraylar.
Your doctor may have determined that the benefit to you outweighs the risk.
Thanks
There is research showing that atomoxetine carries some risk for inducing mania in patients with bipolar disorder. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5329999/) However, 18 mg is a low enough dose that your Doctor may not be concerned about that risk.
Take care for now and all the best.
Thanks, appreciated it
