I have been on Mirtazapine for a few months and have just started to put on a few pounds. I had lost quite a bit of weight due to anxiety so, I’ve been trying to gain some back. I take the medication at night for sleep and am on a whole food plant based diet. I also do moderate daily exercise.
Yes. Been on 45mg and now down to 15mg. Avoided weight gain by Mountain Biking, walking dog and occasionally doing the 16/8 diet where I skip breakfast, have lunch and dinner and then don’t eat from 8pm til 12 Noon the next day. This intermittent fasting really works and has also improved my bowels and digestion. I’m also on 200mg Sertraline in the morning and then 15mg Mirtazapine before bed. I recently changed from Mirt tablets to oradispersible which has transformed my digestion. The lactose in the tablets created havoc with my guts. Didn’t have solid poos for about 2 years. Since changing to oradispersible I now have consistently solid stools. A miracle for me :)
Hi, muriellove!
Yes, I didn't gain an ounce.
"Very common (10% or more of users): Increased appetite (up to 17%), weight gain (up to 12%)"
That means that 83/88% of patients did not have these side effects.
Thanks so much for your reply.. Due to an eating disorder I am afraid to take them but at the minute I'm on diazepam when I'm very bad.. Appreciate your reply x
