... by my doctor because 10mg stopped working after 4 months. I started my increase on Friday, just 3 days ago and my anxiety and depression has gone up. Things that I have read online says you won’t feel the side effects like when you first started Lexapro but I am having increase anxiety and depression. Is this normal? And for how long? Can’t stand feeling like this! Hope someone can help that has gone through this!
Thank you
Has anyone been on 10mg of Lexapro and increased to 20mg? Mine was increased to 20mg on Tuesday...

Hi, Vampiress!
It's completely normal and not unexpected to have new or increased side effects with a dosage increase... and you doubled your dose. Usually they're mild and temporary and subside within days to a week or two. They should lessen as the days go by.
If it's severe enough to cause you concern you might let your doctor know... maybe you need to go up more slowly like maybe 15mg/day until your metabolism is better stabilized.
Best regards and I hope you're feeling better quickly.
Thank you so much WildcatVet. I am trying to stick it out. Took a walk tonight and that helped my anxiety quite a bit. Hoping to sleep better! Side effects isn’t severe enough to call my doctor yet. I try everything to take my mind off the side effects and be happy once there gone!!!
Distraction is good! Long walks, a book, movie, hobbies, whatever you enjoy doing.
Good luck!
