I have been on citalopram 20 mg for quiet awhile but this past year with Covid, my husband’s health and losing my brother quite suddenly has really stressed me beyond belief. I have had this little irritating cough which comes and goes. I have all my blood work done and everything was normal. Now someone says to me you should get tested for lung cancer which has now put me in total stress. I literally do not know how to bring my levels downs. I have tried exercising. I just keep going to the dark side. Any suggestions.

Health anxiety sucks! People need to be more careful in what they say, especially if they know you suffer with anxiety.
The meds do a good job of keeping major anxiety at bay but they aren’t happy pills! We still need to work on anxiety management.
Everyone is feeling more stress in this current climate.
It’s probably a good idea to tell your doctor about your concerns. It sounds more like an allergy to me but perhaps some more test will eleviate your fears. Talk to your doctor, they know best.
Some good tools for dealing with anxiety for me are listening to Audible books on the subject. I’m currently listening to The Dare Approach to anxiety and it’s very good. My all time favourite is Dr Claire Weekes, she’s passed now but her teaching is still as relevant today as it was 40 years ago! You can find her talks free to listen to on YouTube. Meditation is a great tool and the free App, Insight Timer, has lots of free guided meditations you can follow.
I wish you all the best ❤️
