I had my 6 month check up today after being on this drug due to breast cancer with estrogen marker. Just realized I didn’t ask about this possible side effect: No sex drive. None! What is happening?!
Anastrozole - is loss of sex drive a weird side effect?

Since estrogen is a hormone that drives many things for women, including their libido, it seems reasonable since we are taking an estrogen blocker that that drive would/could be diminished. For me, I have noticed that I am very dry (painfully so) in that "zone" and sex is the very LAST thing I'd want. There are SO MANY different effects of these estrogen blockers. I don't think onco's have all the answers. Every person is different. I had to go off of Anastrozole because it made me sick, everyday. I was on it for a year. I now take Letrozole. I feel much better and I don't feel sick and tired everyday. The dryness and tissue thinning is still apparent.
Hope this helps.
