I have been taking Ativan for 25 years and I have to take it as soon as I get up or I am in rough shape. I haven't taken it for almost 4 days now and I am doing good but I have been taking a couple of amlodipine and I am wondering if they are working the same as Ativan?
Is amlodipine the same as Ativan?

Hi, Jenncan!
"Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that dilates (widens) blood vessels and improves blood flow. Amlodipine is used to treat chest pain (angina) and other conditions caused by coronary artery disease. Amlodipine is also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). "
"Ativan (lorazepam) belongs to a group of drugs called benzodiazepines (ben-zoe-dye-AZE-eh-peens). It is thought that lorazepam works by enhancing the activity of certain neurotransmitters in the brain. Ativan is a prescription medicine used to treat anxiety disorders."
Ativan is a mild sedative.
Amlodipine helps relieve symptoms of anxiety (sweating, tremors, racing heart, stuttering, etc.).
Hope this helps!
