Yes and 1 mg is about a mid range dose.
1 mg of alprazolam is really an upper mid-range dose. Alprazolam comes in dosage strengths of 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, and 2 mg. Doctors will usually start a patient, who has never taken alprazolam before, on 0.5 mg. Then if the patient reports that they are not getting effective relief, the doctor should slowly titrate up (that is, increase) the dosage, until the desired effect, which the drug was prescribed for, is achieved. The doctor will should titrate up the dosage at a rate of 1 mg increments every 3 to 4 days, in order to give the patient time to determine if the drug is working for them, before the doctor titrates up another 1 mg of alprazolam, until the desired, correct effective dosage for the patient is reached for the condition in which the alprazolam was prescribed for. Also when and how often the drug needs to be taken by the patient, is taken into account by the prescribing doctor for maximim dosage effectiveness, without over prescribing too much alprazolam.
Is the manufacturer Pfizer?
