Well, I guess the whole description didn’t post. I have been dealing with debilitating insomnia for the past 5 years and I’m running out of options. Just recently the ER prescribed me 5mg of Ambien for my insomnia after declining to prescribe me clonazepam, Xanax, or Ativan. I’ve been to that ER multiple times and almost each tile they prescribed either one of the benzos. However, I am terrified to take Ambien after reading about the effects people experience, such as sleep-driving, texting, talking, etc. I’m scared I’m going to either do that or something even more dangerous. I’m scared that I might murder one of my family members. Yes, I read that somewhere. Yes we have our issues, but I love them dearly and I’m scared if I take this medication I’ll hurt one of them or someone else for that matter. I currently am typing this in pain as I haven’t been getting much sleep from my trazadone (50mg) and Hydroxyzine (50mg). They work, only my if my anxiety isn’t through the roof.
I’m scared. Please help me.

U could try 10 mg of melatonin it's natural and available at most grocery stores or like Walgreens. It works good for me and the wife
I’m on 200 trazodone, 200 Amitryptiline and 15 of Lunesta which is working great lately. As far as the sleep walking things... I experienced just one or two incidents starting out left milk on counter.
Insomnia is horrible and after 5 days up hallucinations begin, paranoia, sleep paralysis.
Lunesta knocks me out so fierce I never knew what a real good night sleep means.!
Literally like a different person.
Taking Benzodiazepines for sleep like Xanax and Ativan is not a good idea. They are not meant for long acting situations. You will eventually become addicted and get no relief and then withdrawals.
I would try the Ambien. Unless you have unlocked weapons and ammo lying around you will not hurt anyone and most reports of sleep walking are brief and mellow.
15 Lunesta is unheard of. Max dose is 3 mg.
Zopiclone, in Canada. Yes it’s a heavy dose my father just started 3mg. I was started on 7.5 but I quickly became tolerant as with all medications I take.
US is eszopiclon i believe is generic in US aka Lunesta.
Hi, I can totally relate to what you are feeling! I too have taken a plethora of anxiety meds and sleep meds over the years. I have also had some experiences doing things while on ambien and not remembering. BUT, this was many, many years ago, and I have become much more educated about how this drug works. FIRST, only take this while in bed. SECOND, go to sleep! It will work pretty quickly. If you take ambien while still up doing things thats when you will be doing things “in your sleep” and have amnesia the next day. Take it as directed, in bed, and go to sleep. I currently take 10mg every night. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. The reason behind that is because I have been on it for over 10 years and its really not meant for long term use. Oh well, good luck and sweet dreams! Keep me posted on how it goes.
